When we started Hibiscus Monkey, we decided to look at the body not as an afterthought, but as something that deserves its own spotlight.

Our mission is simple: "Skincare does not stop at the face."

We set out to give body care the same standards as face care - clinical-grade actives, potent botanicals, formulations packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

The women behind the brand

A Family Affair

Meet the all-women co-founder team of Hibiscus Monkey. We are a twin-daughter and mother trio.

Mona Mehta

Is a Chartered Accountant by profession. She worked as a corporate banker at HSBC and later as a consultant for the World Bank.

Roshni Mehta

Previously worked in the Government of India and earlier as a management consultant in New York (Monitor Deloitte). She got a double MBA and Master in Public Policy jointly at MIT and Harvard. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University.

Naina Mehta

Previously worked at Unilever as a marketer in skin care, and earlier as a management consultant in New York (Monitor Deloitte). She got her MBA at Harvard Business School and completed her undergraduate degree in Engineering from MIT (Cambridge, USA).

Origin of Hibiscus Monkey

It started with our Nani..

The origin of Hibiscus Monkey is our Nani's hair oil. Made from two ingredients, fresh hibiscus flowers and rich coconut milk oil, its potency lies in its simplicity.

Passed through generations of strong women, this recipe became HM Love Hair Oil, the first ever product of Hibiscus Monkey.

But she passed down more than her hair oil recipe. She taught us self-care is self-respect. To choose ourselves without compromise means to look after all parts of our body equally.

And the name? “Hibiscus” is an ode to the hero ingredient in the very first product they launched and “Monkey” comes from what their nani called them growing up, bandarias.
