I am on my period. There I said it. My periods are just another part of me, like my skin, my hair and the rest of my body. It’s a natural process that knocks on my door every month, sometimes punctually, other times erratically. There is no shame. No disgust. No embarrassment. I don’t feel the need to conceal my pad in the deepest corners of my bag hiding it from the world. I don’t feel impure. I don’t feel godly either. Let’s just let periods be what they really are. Just periods.
In this collective experience of womanhood we hope you agree with us when we say that it is absolutely inane to be embarrassed about periods. The shame, secrecy and misinformation associated with periods are archaic and should be shut down. Let’s be honest, we got 99 problems and this ain’t gonna be one!
